I left insurance based medicine because it kept asking me to tell people they were fine when they clearly were not. I could not keep practicing that way.
Here is what I believe. You are not deficient in a medication. Your symptoms have a cause, and my job is to find it. Medications are useful tools and I use them, but I am not interested in putting you on something for life and calling that a cure when there is a better answer.
Take the thyroid. A lot of people get told it is normal when it is really just low normal, and many clinics check one number and stop there. I look at the fuller picture, because you deserve to know why you feel the way you do.
That kind of care takes time and real testing, which is exactly what insurance does not pay for. So when someone is on the fence about paying out of pocket, I tell them the truth. You can invest in your health now, or you can pay for it later with your health. Either way you are going to pay. I would rather help you spend it up front, on answers.

This is built for the whole household, not just one person. Add your spouse or partner for $99 a month, and each child for $49. So the two of you come to $248, and a family of four runs about $346. For a lot of families, that is less than they already spend on premiums and copays for care they can barely get an appointment for.
